Attorneys for Robin Williams' wife and children are headed to court in their battle over the late comedian's estate.
The attorneys are scheduled to appear before a San Francisco probate judge on Monday, as they argue over who should get clothes and other personal items the actor kept at one his Northern California homes.
In papers filed in December, Williams' wife, Susan, says some of the late actor's personal items were taken without her permission.
She has asked the court to exclude the contents of the San Francisco Bay Area home she shared with Williams from the jewelry, memorabilia and other items Williams said the children should have.
Williams' children, Zachary, Zelda and Cody, said in response that Susan Williams is "adding insult to a terrible injury" by trying to change the trust agreement and rob them of the late actor's belongings.
Susan Williams' attorney said she was only seeking guidance from the court about the meaning of certain terms in the trust. |

Top German court seeks more evidence in far-right ban bid

Germany's highest court is asking authorities to provide more evidence that they no longer have paid informants inside the country's main far-right party, signaling a potential hitch in a move to ban the group.
Parliament's upper house, which represents Germany's 16 states, in 2013 applied for a ban of the National Democratic Party. It alleges that the party promotes a racist, xenophobic and anti-Semitic agenda in violation of Germany's constitution.
In 2003, the Federal Constitutional Court rejected a previous attempt to ban the party because paid government informants within the group were partially responsible for evidence against it.
State governments say this application contains no information from informants. However, in a decision published Monday, the court demanded more evidence to back their assertion that they stopped using informants.

Hernandez lawyers due in court in 2012 slayings

Lawyers for former New England Patriots player Aaron Hernandez plan to discuss evidence-sharing by prosecutors during a hearing in the slaying of two Boston men.
Hernandez is charged with murder in the 2012 fatal shootings of Daniel de Abreu and Safiro Furtado after a chance encounter at a Boston nightclub. His lawyers and prosecutors are expected to meet with a judge in Suffolk Superior Court Tuesday to give an update on evidence shared by prosecutors.
Hernandez has waived his right to be present for the last two hearings in the case and is not expected to be in court Tuesday.
Prosecutors say Hernandez and a friend followed the two men in their car after one of the men accidentally spilled a drink on Hernandez. They say Hernandez fired at least five shots into the car at a red light, killing the two men and injuring a third.
Hernandez has pleaded not guilty in those killings and in the 2013 shooting death of semi-professional football player Odin Lloyd.
He is scheduled to go on trial in January in Lloyd's killing. A trial date of May has been set in the 2012 double slaying.

Court lets stand conviction of hedge fund founder

The Supreme Court has declined to disturb the conviction of San Francisco hedge fund founder Doug Whitman on insider trading charges.
The justices on Monday rejected Whitman's appeal of his 2012 conviction for securities fraud and conspiracy.
Prosecutors said Whitman made nearly $1 million between 2006 and 2009 by receiving inside tips about the earnings of public companies. Whitman had testified that he was careful to avoid inside trades. He was sentenced to two years in prison.
Whitman argued that the trial court gave the jury flawed instructions and improperly excluded the testimony of a witness. |
